Waylon Fischer , D.V.M., DACT Dr. Waylon Fischer was born in Wayne, Nebraska in 1973. His family lived in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri before settling in Naperville, Illinois before third grade. He finished high school and went to college at the University of Illinois. He did his undergraduate and veterinary school education there, graduating in 1998. From there he went into private practice in Towner, North Dakota. After a year in North Dakota, he went back to the University of Illinois to teach and complete a residency program in the field of Theriogenology. He became a board certified Theriogenologist (reproductive specialist) in 2002 and completed his residency program in 2003. While at Illinois, he met his future wife, Dr. Jodi Fischer, and they married in 2004. Upon completing his residency program, he moved back to North Dakota and practiced in Minot for a year, then moved back to Illinois and practiced in Peotone for a year, before moving to Wisconsin. Prior to joining Athens Veterinary Service, he practiced for two years in Wittenberg, Wisconsin. He has been at Athens Veterinary Service since May of 2007. His wife and he have a beautiful boy named Mason who was born in January of 2008. They have two dogs and three cats. |
