Carla (Prahl) Cleveland, DVM is a 2008 graduate of Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine inStillwater, Oklahoma, but don’t let her “new grad” status fool you. Dr. Carla has been around cattle all her life having grown up on a dairy and beef farm east of Wausau.  After completing her bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, she spent five years working on several large dairies before deciding to take the plunge and finish her education.  Over the years, she has developed a special interest in mastitis and milk quality to go along with her primary interest in food animal medicine and surgery.

Dr. Carla’s off-hours are spent in a variety of ways.  She and her husband have several dogs that keep them busy going for walks and playing ball.  Ally was a gift from her father, K.C. was adopted during Dr. Carla’s third year surgery class, and Gillie is the newest member of the family having been her husband’s dog.  In the warmer months of the year, Dr. Carla and her husband spend time outdoors hunting, fishing, and boating.  Avid sports fans, they enjoy watching Packer football games and Dr. Carla also follows OSU-Cowboy basketball and Badger hockey.  Dr. Carla also enjoys reading, cooking, and gardening (even though she has a black thumb), and she and her husband enjoy spending time with their families.  In the future, they would like to have a small hobby farm to call home.
