Business & Human Resources Manager

Renee joined Athens Veterinary Service in February of 2004. She started out working at the front office with administrative duties.  Renee enjoyed very much getting to know our wonderful clientele from our dairy producers, equine to small animals and not to mention the amazing animals!  Working as an office manager assistant for many years, gave her the ability to move into management roles as an Office Manager to taking over the Business Management/HR role following Jeannie’s retirement after working 35 years!  Renee is actively involved in some of the Athens community services such as a member of the financial board with her church and has been a member of the Athens Sno-Pak for several years. She has been involved with North Central Technical College’s Vet Tech Program by being part of their advisory committee. When not working, Renee likes to go snowmobiling, camping, fishing, and traveling with her family.

Office Manager

Jan started at the Athens Vet Service in February of 1999. She became a certified technician in 2005 which transitioned to Lead Technician before becoming the office manager.

During her free time, she enjoys cooking and growing her own vegetables. She likes spending time with her dog Buck. She also takes time to travel with her husband.

Mindy started with Athens Veterinary Service in December of 2020. She studied at Northcentral Technical College in their Veterinary Assistant Program. Mindy furthered her career with becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician in July of 2021. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her fur babies.

   

Lori Ann, CVT

Lori Ann, CVT

Lori Ann started her career in the veterinary industry in 1987 as a certified veterinary technician and has been part of our team since November 2003. Lori Ann works in the front office as well as managing the inventory. While not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and children on their beef farm.

 

 

Brittany, CVT

Brittany, CVT

Brittany began working at Athens Vet Service as a vet assistant in 2022. She studied Veterinary Nursing at Purdue University and became a CVT in April of 2024. She has 3 dogs named Ghost, Maci and Zoey. She also has 2 cats named Mittens and Cactus. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, fishing, four-wheeling and hiking with her dogs.

Liz Vet Assistant

Liz, VA

Liz started at Athens Vet Service in September of 2022. She has 1 dog and 3 horses. Liz's love for animals led her to a career as a large animal vet assistant. In her free time, she is learning to rope and work cattle with her horses. She also enjoys spending time with her 3 sisters and going to her family cabin in Arkansas to hog hunt and fish.

Ellyn Vet Assistant

Ellyn started with us in September of 2022, as a veterinary assistant. Ellyn is currently enrolled at NTC working on earning her CVT. Her passion for working with animals grew during a class in high school that took place in a barn and taught students about animals. Ellyn has a dog named Danner and cat named Savannah. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Shelley, Lab Assistant

Shelley, Lab Assistant

Shelley started her career at the Athens Vet in April of 2018.  Shelley grew up on her family's dairy farm and is no stranger to helping with all kinds of animals.  She and her husband, Joe, enjoy their own hobby and beef farm.  You can find Shelley either working at our front office, in our laboratory or assisting our technicians and doctors.  We're happy that Shelley has joined our veterinary team!

 

Veterinary Service Assistants

Anita

Anita started with us in the summer of 2020. She works in our reception area and helps with large animal and farming clients. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, bowling and taking her dog Max for walks.

 

 

Julia

Julia

Julia has worked as our large animal receptionist since September 2022. She grew up in Athens on her parents’ Dairy farm, where she still helps at regularly. After high school Julia started her own Hereford herd that has grown to over 20 cows. Julia also helps her 3 sons take care of their goats, sheep, turkeys, and pigs. When she does get free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, sons or going deer hunting.

 

 

Maddy

Maddy started as a small animal receptionist in September 2022. She is originally from Stevens Point, but moved to the Stetsonville area to attend college and be with her significant other. Maddy has 2 Labrador retrievers and 1 tabby cat. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and knitting.

 

 

Maintenance

Rob, Handy Man

Rob, Handy Man

Rob is no stranger when it comes to working at the Athens Veterinary Service! He started around 2011 helping in our maintenance department during a vacancy period. He also is married to our Inventory Manager, Lori Ann, and has been part of our vet family for many years. Rob spends his time working in the woods as well as on the farm. He enjoys working in his wood shop and is an outdoor enthusiast.

Katie

Katie is Dr. Tom's daughter who comes in a few days a week to help us around the clinic! She helps with stocking, cleaning and other odds and ends around the clinic!
