Renee Schreiner

Business & Human Resources Manager

Renee joined Athens Veterinary Service in February of 2004. She started out working at the front office with administrative duties.  Renee enjoyed very much getting to know our wonderful clientele from our dairy producers, equine to small animals and not to mention the amazing animals!  Working as an office manager assistant for many years, gave her the ability to move into management roles as an Office Manager to taking over the Business Management/HR role following Jeannie’s retirement after working 35 years!  Renee is actively involved in some of the Athens community services such as a member of the financial board with her church and has been a member of the Athens Sno-Pak for several years. She has been involved with North Central Technical College’s Vet Tech Program by being part of their advisory committee. When not working, Renee likes to go snowmobiling, camping, fishing, and traveling with her family.

Mindy, CVT

Mindy started with Athens Veterinary Service in December of 2020. She studied at Northcentral Technical College in their Veterinary Assistant Program. Mindy furthered her career with becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician in July of 2021. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her fur babies.

Lori Ann, CVT

Lori Ann started her career in the veterinary industry in 1987 as a certified veterinary technician and has been part of our team since November 2003. Lori Ann works in the front office as well as managing the inventory. While not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and children on their beef farm.

Brittany, CVT

Brittany began working at Athens Vet Service as a vet assistant in 2022. She studied Veterinary Nursing at Purdue University and became a CVT in April of 2024. She has 3 dogs named Ghost, Maci and Zoey. She also has 2 cats named Mittens and Cactus. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, fishing, four-wheeling and hiking with her dogs.

Emily

Emily joined Athens Veterinary Service in October of 2025. Her family includes her mother, father, and four brothers, all who still reside in Shawano. She is also an aunt to five nephews and four nieces. Emily has two pets. Buddy, a six-year-old Labrador/Great Dane mix, and Luca, a one-year long-haired male cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cows, pets, friends, and family. Emily also enjoys boat rides, horseback riding, and being outdoors. She is originally from Shawano, Wisconsin, and have been living in Rib Lake with her boyfriend since the end of 2024.

Amber, VA

Amber joined Athens Veterinary Service in 2017. She has a daughter named Amara. She also has several pets, including Duke and her tomcat Tom is Amara’s favorite. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family. Amber was born and raised in Athens, where she continues to reside.

Liz, VA

Liz started at Athens Vet Service in September of 2022. She has 1 dog and 3 horses. Liz's love for animals led her to a career as a large animal vet assistant. In her free time, she is learning to rope and work cattle with her horses. She also enjoys spending time with her 3 sisters and going to her family cabin in Arkansas to hog hunt and fish.

Alisha, VA

Alisha started at Athens Vet Service in July of 2024. Alisha has been in the vet field for 6 years and plans to be for many more. Her and her husband live in Marathon with their labrador retriever, Roxie. In her free time, she loves reading, hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Shelley, Lab Assistant

Shelley started her career at the Athens Vet in April of 2018.  Shelley grew up on her family's dairy farm and is no stranger to helping with all kinds of animals.  She and her husband, Joe, enjoy their own hobby and beef farm.  You can find Shelley either working at our front office, in our laboratory or assisting our technicians and doctors.  We're happy that Shelley has joined our veterinary team!

Amber

Amber joined Athens Veterinary Service in July of 2024. She currently serves as a Veterinary Service Representative. Her family includes her husband, Mike, and their two children, Alec and Abby. They share their home with three dogs Noelle, Bently, and Slinky and their three cats Smokey, Rocket, and Luna. In addition, she has an array of exotics as well. In her free time, Amber enjoys reading and crafting. As a family, they enjoy camping, fishing, gardening, and spending time together during game nights. She was born in Medford and spent her younger years dividing my time between Medford and Athens. Her family has since settled in Medford, where they currently reside.

Mariah

Mariah joined Athens Veterinary Service in April of 2025. She currently serves as a Veterinary Service Representative. Her family includes her mother, father, and two younger brothers. She has two dogs: Remi, a red heeler, and Paisley, a husky/golden retriever mix. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, throwing darts, and reading. Mariah was born and raised in Wausau, where she continues to reside.

Anita

Anita joined the Athens Veterinary Service in the summer of 2020. She works in our front desk area as an administrative assistant, working closely with both the Office and Business manager. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and bowling.

Maddy

Maddy joined the Athens Veterinary Service in September of 2022 as a Veterinary Service Representative. She is originally from Stevens Point but moved to the Stetsonville area to attend college and be with her Husband. Maddy has two labrador retrievers and one tabby cat. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and knitting.

Rob, Handy Man

Rob is no stranger when it comes to working at the Athens Veterinary Service! He started around 2011 helping in our maintenance department during a vacancy period. He also is married to our Inventory Manager, Lori Ann, and has been part of our vet family for many years. Rob spends his time working in the woods as well as on the farm. He enjoys working in his wood shop and is an outdoor enthusiast.

Katie

Katie is Dr. Tom's daughter who comes in a few days a week to help us around the clinic! She helps with stocking, cleaning and other odds and ends around the clinic!
